Apex - who are you?
Apex Philatelics are one of the bigger stamp firms you've never heard of. Run jointly by Tim Francis and Rick Warren they have developed a modest approvals business into a major international firm with a growing £2,000,000 turnover in very few years.
World records at Apex sales
The Apex postal auction (No 57) which took place on the 4th March attracted the participation of almost 1200 bidders, who offered to spend almost £750,000 between them!

Diary of an auctioneer
The day I sat down to write this piece, I heard on the radio that a Picasso painting had just sold for many tens of millions of dollars.
Certificates - who needs them?
A bog standard GB 1/- EDVII stamp typically catalogues £80 as a mint stamp and £35 as a used one.
Investment in stamps - a professional's viewpoint
Stamps can be an excellent investment. However, I and several in the stamp trade as well as leading collectors, are concerned that when stamps are promoted principally as an investment, then difficulties are likely to appear in the market.
Limited editions from an investment point of view
There are many privately owned firms who produce their own commemorative covers and first day covers (FDC).
